Because I do outpatient evaluation and therapy,
I cannot promise that I will be available at all times. Although
I am in the office Wednesday through Friday, I usually do not
take phone calls when I am with a patient. You can always leave
a message on my answering machine, and I will return your call
as soon as I can. Generally, I will return messages daily except
on weekends and holidays.

I can be paged through my answering service at
310-372-0990 – press 1 for regular messages and press 2 for
urgent messages and emergencies outside of my regular office
hours.

In emergencies outside of my regular office hours,
I also can be paged. If you cannot reach me in a dire emergency,
you and your family members should call 911, or contact Psychiatric
Emergency room at 310-222-3144, or go to the nearest emergency
room.

My hours for regular phone calls from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M.
Monday through Thursday, and calls outside these hours are
treated as emergencies and charged accordingly. If you leave me
a regular message on Friday after 4:00 PM, it will be returned
on Monday.
As I mentioned earlier in this website, I find
that telephone therapy does not work as well as face-to-face
therapy, and so I discourage it. I will generally suggest our
meeting if you call with a problem that is not critical.
